Facts about reindeer for children

Deer are ungulate wild animals with slender legs and small tails, and most males have antlers. Deer live in swamps, hardwood forests, grasslands, rainforests, arid bushlands, and mountains.  Deer are very sociable and move in herds. Some deer are not afraid of people!

Most deer are active throughout the day and spend their days searching for food. All deer are herbivores and in the wild they eat only grass, small shrubs and leaves.
