Facts about bison for children
Bison are large, horned animals. Imagine, they can reach 7-11.5 feet (2.1-3.5 m) in length from head to rump. Bison can be found mostly in nature reserves, wildlife refuges, or on farms in the United States, Canada, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, and Slovakia. Bison are social creatures and live in herds. They are also migratory animals. The herds migrate south in winter and return north in spring. Bison are herbivores and prefer to eat only grasses, leaves and twigs.
