Santa Claus or Ded Moroz, Slavic Santa Claus, is a symbol of Russian winter and New Year holidays. As rule, he is accompanied by his young and very beautiful granddaughter Snow Maiden. Every Winter they ride on a sleigh drawn by three white horses in a row.
Ded Moroz has a rounded Russian cap generously trimmed with fur and embroidered with pearls. His winter coat can be red, or icy blue with silvery stars. Besides, Ded Moroz wears mittens and a wide white sash. His footwear is high boots with silver ornamentation, but on exceptionally cold days, Ded Moroz shoes valenki (boiled-wool boots). Also, he always takes his crystal or ice pikestaff.
